Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is dedicated to implementing programs of service that enhance the social, economic, and educational well-being of the local, national and international communities. Programs remain the heart of AKA. The Beta Eta chapter provides service and educational activities to the University of Michigan campus and local community.

SKEE-WEEKSkee Week is a full week of activities each semester where undergraduate chapters around the country present programs that support our international program initiatives to the campus community. The dates and themes are established by the international Undergraduate Activities Committee.

AKA-DEMICSHistorically, AKAdemics was a formal study program for minority women on campus.
Group study sessions were held twice a week and the Chapter provided study aids, tutoring, and peer counseling. Book scholarships were given as a participation incentive. In its current format, weekly study tables are held throughout the semester, during mid-terms, and finals. |
FOUNDERS' DAYEach year on January 15, we take time to remember and celebrate our Founders' and our legacy to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards and to be of "Service to All Mankind."

SIGNATURE EVENTS
FANTASY IN PINK GALA (FIP)
Two monetary awards given annually to graduating high school women of color who attend Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area high schools and two students at the University of Michigan.
FIP is also where we publicly recognize the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients, as well as honor our graduating seniors. |
MR. IVY LEAGUE
Our Scholarship Pageant highlights the talents of Black males on campus and celebrate their excellence.
Winners also a monetary award. |
